WHAT IS DNS
WHAT IS DNS?
Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization

Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) is an assessment and treatment modality in physical therapy, chiropractic and personal training fields. DNS works by stimulating the central nervous system to retrain the neurophysiological aspect of the locomotion system. This allows for ideal spinal and extremity joint stabilization and leads to improved movement patterns and restoration of dysfunctional areas of the body. DNS uses physical therapy models to help activate stabilization musculature, which starts with proper mechanics of the diaphragm, pelvic floor and "core musculature," then expands to the limbs. DNS helps reestablish the connections between muscle and brain and supports treatment in patients with disc herniations, rotator cuff syndrome, neck pain, pelvic floor weakness, GERD (acid reflux), hypertonic muscles from strokes and cerebral palsy and many other conditions.

WHAT TO EXPECT
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A DNS TENNIS LESSON?
Tennis with Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization

Dynamic neuromuscular (core) stability is necessary for optimal tennis performance and is not achieved purely by adequate strength of abdominals, spinal extensors, gluteal or any other musculature; rather, core stabilization is accomplished through precise coordination of these muscles and intra-abdominal pressure regulation by the central nervous system.

Throughout the common tennis skills I have learned in Tennis Australia we will make sure there is an effortless movement pattern to execute a forehand, backhand, forehand volley, backhand volley, serve and smash.

The Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) approach provides functional tools to assess and activate the intrinsic spinal stabilizers in order to optimize the movement system for both pre-habilitation and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and performance of pro athletes, advance and beginner tennis players.

WHAT IS MY EXPERIENCE AND WHO IS DAVID?
Tennis player and DNS trainer

My name is David Alfaro, I grew up in Chile, south America on the early 90's till early 2000's. I have played tennis since the age of 6 and became a junior pro player by the age of 14.

I play tournaments in the south American tennis tour until the age of 23. That year I had a Achilles heel tendon rupture and I had to quit the sport for a while.

After a long recovery in 2012 I traveled to Melbourne Australia to teach tennis and to join the Australian tennis circuit.

I have coached in Melbourne park at the NTC (National tennis Centre) and Albert park for 2 years and gain great experience in privates, groups, disable and high performance tennis training.

In 2015 I moved to Byron bay where I open my own tennis coaching business and I specialized in private lessons for 4 years, throughout this time I found the urge to improve body mechanics for myself as a player and for my students. That is when I heard about DNS.

Since I integrated DNS into my tennis coaching methods I have had amazing results with all my students; beginner, intermediate, advanced, injured, elders and young. DNS helped me to always find room for improvement.

I am a certified Tennis Australia tennis coach with 10 years experience of coaching and 28 years experience as a tennis player, DNS trainer and a semi pro tennis player.
